Ann Curry

Ann Curry, an American journalist and photojournalist who has reported on the natural and military disasters of nearly 45 years. Her focus is on the suffering of those in these areas. Curry has covered wars across the world, including in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, born November 19th, 1956 (Agana) is an American journalist, who was anchor of a newscast on TV. Curry's reporting was notable for her reporting on humanitarian crisis that occurred in war-torn countries as well as natural catastrophes. Curry is the daughter of a U.S. Navy sailor and a Japanese woman. After World War II, her parents met during her father's service in Japan. In the wake of her father's involvement as a military officer, they moved a lot. They finally moved to Ashland Oregon where Curry attended the high school. Curry graduated from the University of Oregon awarded her an undergraduate degree in journalism. The diversity of her experiences and the experiences she had during her growing up probably influenced her approach to communicating about issues of international significance. Curry along with her husband moved frequently which is why she could not be in a single school for longer than two years. She and her husband travelled to numerous places like San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia. Curry graduated in Ashland the high school. She paved her way for a successful career when she started her broadcasting career as a student intern at KTVL Channel 10 in Medford Oregon, eventually becoming the first female news reporter at the station at the age of 22. In the following years, she worked as an anchor/reporter at KGW located in Portland Oregon. Then she returned into Los Angeles four years later working as a journalist at KCBS TV. In the course of her work with the station for six years that she received the two Emmy Awards.
